Settings & Shortcuts
Settings has three sections built into the desktop app, plus a list of links that open the rest of your daemon’s settings in your browser.
AI Providers
Section titled “AI Providers”Mirrors the web UI’s provider settings: configure API keys, pick a default model, refresh and test the model catalog, and set backup providers for when one nears its usage limit. Keys and models are stored and encrypted on the daemon — they’re never sent to or kept on this computer.
This desktop app
Section titled “This desktop app”-
Sign-in — shows which daemon you’re signed in to and how (paired device, kept on this computer until a date, or this launch only). Run setup again re-opens the connect flow without signing you out first; Sign out of this computer ends the session (see Connect to Your Daemon).

Appearance — three themes: Snippbot (default), Aurora, and Light.

Quick chat —
- The global shortcut that opens Quick Chat from anywhere (
⌥Space/Alt+Spaceby default). Click Change, then press the new combination; it needs at least one real modifier key (Ctrl, Alt/Option, or Cmd/Win) so it doesn’t swallow an ordinary key system-wide. If another app already holds the combination you pick, Snippbot keeps the previous one and tells you so. - Start at login — launches the app (to the tray/menu bar) when you log in to your computer, so notifications and Quick Chat are available right away.
- Closing the window (Windows only) — what happens when you close the Full workspace window: Ask every time, Keep running in the tray, or Quit Snippbot. On macOS, closing the window always keeps the app running in the menu bar, same as other Mac apps;
⌘Qquits it.

This computer
Section titled “This computer”Turns on and configures the bundled tool runner so agents can work on files and run commands on this machine. See Tools on This Computer for the full walkthrough.
In the web UI
Section titled “In the web UI”Everything else — Profile, Model Routing, Security, Memory, Voice, Channels, and Remote Access — opens your browser to the matching page on your daemon’s web UI, rather than being rebuilt natively.
